Self-hosting

Run the optional self-hosted configuration service without replacing the local display data plane.

What it synchronizes

The reference Go service stores validated DisplayConfiguration values with optimistic ETag revisions. It does not store calendar events, snapshots, provider credentials or pairing secrets.

Deployment boundary

  • Bind to loopback by default.
  • Terminate HTTPS in a maintained reverse proxy.
  • Use an unprivileged Debian VM or LXC on Proxmox, not the hypervisor host.
  • Back up and restore-test the data volume.

Good to know

This is a single-tenant technical preview. Production identity, multi-tenant authorization, observability, upgrade and disaster-recovery work remain separate gates.
