Home Assistant & IoT
Bring selected room signals into the display without turning the renderer into an automation engine.
Read path
The Bridge discovers compatible Home Assistant entities only after an explicit administrator action. Normal refreshes request the selected identifiers one by one; above eight mapped entities the Bridge reads the Home Assistant state catalog once, keeps only the mapped entities and discards the rest without storing or forwarding it. Values are mapped into bounded EnvironmentMetric records.
Actions
Version 1.0 is read-only and does not expose device commands. Automation policies stay in Home Assistant or Node-RED. Any later write path requires an explicit per-entity allowlist, bounded values, confirmation, auditability and a separate release gate.
Recommended topology
Sensors → Home Assistant / Node-RED → Mac Bridge → encrypted snapshot → Apple TVProtocols
MQTT, Matter, Node-RED and vendor protocols should normally remain behind Home Assistant during the MVP. This reduces credentials, reconnect logic and attack surface on the display.
