FIRST DISPLAY
Getting started
Choose standalone or connected mode, then bring a room online without weakening the trust boundary.
1. Choose a persona
- Meeting Room — calendar-led workplace display.
- Personal Ambient — local clock/date, with optional calendar data through the Mac Bridge.
- Standalone — useful local display without a network dependency.
2. Start the Mac Bridge
Grant calendar access only when requested, select the exact room calendar, then set the room name and weather location. The Bridge keeps provider access on macOS because EventKit is unavailable on tvOS.
3. Pair the display
Open the display menu with Play/Pause, choose Connect to Bridge and use Bonjour discovery or the manual host fallback. Pairing traffic and snapshots use the authenticated local protocol.
4. Verify freshness
- Current means every required source is within its freshness window.
- Cached means the last valid local snapshot is displayed.
- Limited data means one or more sources are unavailable or stale.
