1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using any application developed by LorisLabs ("we," "our," or "us"), including Clasp, TypeMetrics, Moi, Lumen for Frigate, LumenTV, Lumen Cam, CoreShield AI, Sinkhole, 404 Network, Synthesis, Heol, Éclair, and AuroraPulse (collectively, the "Apps"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Apps.

These Terms apply in addition to any terms imposed by Apple through the App Store. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and Apple's terms, Apple's terms shall prevail to the extent required.

2. Use of Our Apps

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the Apps on devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial purposes, in accordance with Apple's App Store Terms of Service.

Our Apps may be offered under a freemium model, where core features are available at no cost and additional premium features are available through in-app purchases or subscriptions processed by the Apple App Store. All purchases are handled by Apple and are subject to Apple's terms and refund policies.

3. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

Some of our Apps offer premium features through auto-renewable subscriptions and one-time in-app purchases, processed entirely by Apple through the App Store.

Clasp

Clasp also offers a free 7-day trial of Pro features when you first install the app. No payment is required for the trial, and it does not automatically convert to a paid subscription.

Synthesis

Synthesis core features — including unlimited notebooks, all 34 block types, on-device AI, SM-2 spaced repetition, and gamification — are free forever on a single device.

404 Network

404 Network core features — including speed test, ping, traceroute, DNS lookup, port scanning, device discovery, and device audit — are free forever.

TypeMetrics

TypeMetrics core features — including typing tests, basic analytics, and the learning path — are free forever.

CoreShield AI

All CoreShield AI subscriptions are managed through the Apple App Store using StoreKit. Free tier features remain available indefinitely without payment.

Lumen for Frigate & LumenTV

Lumen and LumenTV core features — including up to 4 cameras, 25 recent events, live camera view, push notifications, and Apple Watch — are free forever. A Pro subscription or purchase in Lumen also unlocks LumenTV Pro features.

Lumen Cam

Lumen Cam pricing details will be announced when the app launches. Core streaming features are expected to be free.

Moi

Moi pricing details will be announced when the app launches on the App Store.

Éclair

Éclair core features — including route planning, charge stop optimization, basic statistics, and on-device AI — are free forever.

AuroraPulse

AuroraPulse pricing details will be announced when the app launches.

Auto-Renewal Terms

Refunds

All purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support. LorisLabs does not process payments or issue refunds directly.

4. Intellectual Property

The Apps, including all content, features, functionality, design, and source code, are owned by LorisLabs and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

The names "LorisLabs," "Clasp," "TypeMetrics," "Moi," "Lumen for Frigate," "LumenTV," "Lumen Cam," "CoreShield AI," "Sinkhole," "404 Network," "Synthesis," "Heol," "Éclair," and "AuroraPulse," along with associated logos and designs, are trademarks of LorisLabs. You may not use these marks without our prior written consent.

Nothing in these Terms grants you any right, title, or interest in the Apps beyond the limited license expressly stated above.

5. User Content

You retain full ownership of any content you create, store, or process within the Apps, including but not limited to clipboard items, text snippets, typing data, AI conversations, NVR event data, network logs, trip data, driving statistics, and vehicle information.

We do not claim any rights over your content. Consistent with our Privacy Policy, all user content is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to LorisLabs servers. We have no ability to access, view, or recover your content.

You are solely responsible for ensuring that any content you import into our Apps (such as text for typing practice or documents for AI indexing) does not infringe on third-party rights or violate applicable laws.

7. Disclaimers

THE APPS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

AI-powered features (including content classification, posture coaching, threat detection, and conversational AI) are provided for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional advice — whether medical, legal, financial, or otherwise.

Synthesis — Education Disclaimer

Synthesis is a study and note-taking tool. It is not a substitute for professional instruction, tutoring, or educational services. While Synthesis includes AI-powered features that can generate summaries, flashcards, quizzes, and study suggestions, the accuracy and completeness of AI-generated content is not guaranteed. Users should verify AI-generated content independently and not rely on it as their sole source of information for academic, professional, or any other purpose.

User-generated content: You retain full ownership of all notes, notebooks, flashcards, drawings, templates, and other content you create in Synthesis. LorisLabs does not claim any rights over your content.

Data responsibility: Synthesis stores data locally on your device. While iCloud sync (when enabled) provides cloud backup through Apple's infrastructure, LorisLabs is not responsible for data loss due to device failure, accidental deletion, or any other cause. We strongly recommend maintaining regular device backups through iCloud or Finder/iTunes.

Age restrictions: Synthesis is suitable for users of all ages. The "Young Student" persona includes parental controls and age-appropriate content. Users under the age of 13 should use Synthesis with parental or guardian consent and supervision. Parents and guardians are responsible for monitoring their child's use of the app.

Acceptable use: You agree not to use Synthesis to create, store, or distribute content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable. You may not use the app to infringe on the intellectual property rights of others.

Heol — Email Client Disclaimer

Heol is a privacy-first email client. Important clarifications:

User content: You retain full ownership of all emails, drafts, notes, rules, and other content in Heol. LorisLabs does not claim any rights over your content.

Éclair — EV Navigation Disclaimer

Éclair is an electric vehicle navigation, trip planning, and community tool. Important clarifications:

Carpooling (Preview) — Additional Terms

Éclair's carpooling feature is provided as a "Preview" (beta) feature and is subject to the following additional terms:

Dispute Resolution Between Carpooling Users

LorisLabs is not a party to carpooling arrangements and does not mediate disputes between users. If a dispute arises between a driver and a passenger (including disputes over cost-sharing, ride conditions, damage, or conduct), users must resolve the dispute directly between themselves.

In accordance with French consumer law (Code de la consommation, Article L612-1), if you are a consumer in France and have a complaint that could not be resolved directly with LorisLabs, you may refer the matter to a certified consumer mediator. Details of the applicable mediator will be provided upon request by contacting support@lorislab.fr. You may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless LorisLabs, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of Éclair's carpooling feature; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any applicable law, including traffic laws and insurance requirements; (d) any damage, injury, or loss caused to a third party during or in connection with a carpooling ride you participated in; or (e) your content, including messages sent through the carpooling messaging system. This indemnification obligation survives the termination of your use of the Apps.

Éclair is free to download. Premium features are available as one-time in-app purchases processed by Apple and subject to Apple's refund policies.

Sinkhole — DNS Firewall Disclaimer

Sinkhole uses Apple's Network Extension framework (NEPacketTunnelProvider) to create a local-only VPN tunnel for DNS filtering. Important clarifications:

Sinkhole is free to download. Sinkhole Pro is available as a one-time in-app purchase ($4.99) to unlock premium features including unlimited custom rules and additional blocklist sources. Purchases are processed by Apple and subject to Apple's refund policies.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, LORISLABS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APPS, REGARDLESS OF THE CAUSE OF ACTION OR THE THEORY OF LIABILITY.

Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the Apps shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Apps in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or fifty dollars (USD $50), whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you in full.

9. Apple App Store Terms

You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and LorisLabs only, and not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). However, you agree to comply with all applicable Apple App Store terms and policies.

With respect to the Apps downloaded from the Apple App Store:

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Canada, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Canada.

Exception for EU/EEA consumers: If you are a consumer habitually resident in the European Union or European Economic Area, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection afforded by mandatory provisions of the law of your country of habitual residence, in accordance with EU Regulation (EC) No 593/2008 (Rome I), Article 6(2). In particular, the carpooling feature is subject to French Transport Code Article L3132-1 and applicable French and EU consumer protection laws regardless of the governing law clause above. For consumers in France, any dispute may be brought before the competent courts of your place of residence.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

11. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify users through app updates or on our website. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the Terms were last revised.

Your continued use of the Apps after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should discontinue use of the Apps.
