Awake for the task.
Asleep when it's done.

Arcyra keeps your Mac awake only while a long-running task still needs it, then returns it to normal sleep — and writes a local receipt of what happened.

The Arcyra cockpit on its Now screen: no mission active, with Start until stopped, Timed mission and Private Work actions, and status cards for battery, thermal, display, automations and profile.
The cockpit at rest. Arcyra 0.9.0 (1) running on macOS 27.
Unvalidated preview — read first

Preview 1 has had no independent security review, its completion detection has been exercised only against a deterministic internal test corpus, and its energy impact is unmeasured. All limits ↓

Typed completion evidence

A mission ends on typed evidence — a watched process exits, a file goes stable, a transfer manifest completes, or a Shortcut sends an explicit signal. Never a timer standing in for a guess.

Bounded safety policies

Every mission runs inside bounds: lease duration, battery floor, thermal pressure, presence and display state. Crossing a bound returns the Mac to normal sleep behavior — and Arcyra tells you which bound refused the start.

Local receipts

Each mission writes a local record — what held the Mac awake, which evidence ended it, whether a bound intervened. It stays on the machine unless you export it yourself.

Shortcuts & App Intents

Typed entities and preconfigured App Shortcuts: start a mission, query status, energy and safety, stop. Composable with the rest of your Shortcuts.

Not yet proven
  • Completion detection is validated against a deterministic internal corpus, not against your workloads.
  • Safety bounds have not been exercised on every Apple Silicon generation.
  • No independent security review has taken place.
  • Energy impact is unmeasured. No numbers are claimed.
  • Accessibility has not been fully validated with VoiceOver and keyboard-only use.
  • The receipt format may change before 1.0.
Known limits, updates & withdrawal
  • A crossed bound returns the Mac to sleep even mid-task. Arcyra does not guarantee your task completes.
  • macOS may still sleep the machine under thermal pressure, outside Arcyra's control.
  • A receipt records what Arcyra did — it is not proof your task succeeded.
  • Arcyra sends no telemetry. Home Assistant and MQTT publishing exist but are off until you enable them.
  • No self-update. Return to this page, download the new build, and verify its checksum.
  • An unsafe build is withdrawn: the link is removed, the reason is stated here, and the checksum stays published so existing copies can be identified.

Security policy

No independent security review of Arcyra has taken place — see "Not yet proven" above. If you find a vulnerability, please report it privately to [email protected] rather than opening a public issue. We'll acknowledge your report and let you know once it's addressed.
